Water
In
Hampshire, we have a unique and internationally recognised water
environment, from which Hampshire’s residents and businesses take the
water that they use on a day to day basis. Yet, our water resources are
subject to ever increasing pressure from factors such as ongoing
development, increasing per-capita water consumption, and climate
change.
Hampshire
County Council (HCC) recognises that a clean and reliable water supply
is essential for environmental, social and economic sustainability. As
such, HCC has led the formation of a diverse partnership of
organisations who are presenting a unified voice in tacking water
sustainability issues. The Hampshire Water Partnership approach is
recognised as the leading example in the UK of how local authorities
should be addressing water issues.
